I Built This Because I Needed It: The Story Behind Stardust
I want to tell you why Stardust Home Services exists, because I think the honest answer matters more than the polished one.
I am a former tech executive. I have been, at various points in my adult life, someone navigating demanding roles at fast-growth companies. I am a wife, a parent, and a homeowner. I also have personal passions and commitments that matter deeply to me, and I have been doing the math for years on where my time goes.
The math never added up.
In the most demanding seasons of my life — building a career and a family at the same time — something always had to give. And I noticed, over and over again, that what gave was my home. Not because my home didn't matter. It matters enormously. It's where my family lives, where we gather, where we recover from everything the world throws at us. It's also our most significant financial investment.
But the home kept losing. It lost to everything with a deadline, a meeting, a face attached to it. Home tasks had none of those. They just accumulated.
I found myself stuck in a specific and frustrating loop: I knew things needed to be done. I didn't know who to call. When I tried to find someone, the market felt overwhelming — too many providers, no reliable way to evaluate them, no guarantee that the person who showed up would be trustworthy or competent. When I had a bad experience, it made me even more reluctant to try again. So the list grew. And the list lived in my head.
What I kept wondering was: why is there no one in my corner helping me figure this out? For my health, I have doctors — experts who know my history, flag problems early, and refer me to the right specialists. For my finances, I have advisors who help me make good decisions and coordinate complexity. Why did my home — my largest investment — have nothing equivalent?
The answer, I came to believe, wasn't that no one had thought of it. It was that it's genuinely hard to build. Managing a home well requires trust, earned over time. It requires relationships with reliable providers across many trades. It requires the expertise to know what matters and what doesn't, what's urgent and what can wait. It requires a system — not just a list of contacts, but an actual operating model for keeping a complex home running well.
I had spent my career building systems. I knew how to build this one.
Stardust Home Services is what I built. It's the service I needed and couldn't find — a single point of contact for your home who knows it deeply, holds the full picture, manages the complexity, and is accountable for outcomes. I built it for people like me. And if you recognize your own life in what I've described, I'd love for you to meet us.
